The Luditz district ( Czech Okresní hejtmanství Žlutice, politický okres Žlutice ) was a political district in the Kingdom of Bohemia . The district included areas in northwestern Bohemia (in Okres Karlovy Vary). The seat of the district administration was the town of Luditz ( Žlutice , today Český Žlutice ). The area has belonged to the newly founded Czechoslovakia since 1918 and has been part of the Czech Republic since 1993 .

The modern political districts of the Habsburg monarchy were created in 1868 when the political and judicial administration was separated.

The Luditz district was formed in 1868 from the judicial districts Luditz ( Czech soudní okres Žlutice ) and Buchau ( Bochov ).

The Luditz district was home to 30,435 people in 1869, with the district encompassing an area of ​​8.7 square miles and 96 parishes.

In 1890 the district comprised 96 municipalities with 28,898 inhabitants on an area of ​​498.26 km².

In 1910, the Luditz district covered an area of ​​498.26 km² and a population of 28,906 people. In 1910, 28,232 of the inhabitants stated that German was their colloquial language. There were also 562 Czech speakers and 112 foreign speakers or foreigners living in the district.
