Podebrad district

The Poděbrad District ( Czech Okresní hejtmanství Poděbrady ) was a political district in the Kingdom of Bohemia . The district comprised areas in Central Bohemia in today's Středočeský kraj ( Okres Nymburk ). The seat of the district administration was the town of Poděbrad ( Poděbrady ). The area has belonged to the newly founded Czechoslovakia since 1918 and has been part of the Czech Republic since 1993 .

The modern, political districts of the Habsburg Monarchy were created in 1868 when the political and judicial administration was separated.

The Poděbrad District was formed in 1868 from the judicial districts Poděbrad ( Czech soudní okres Poděbrady ), Königstadtl ( Městec Králové ) and Nimburg ( Nymburk ).

In 1869 there were 60,120 people living in Poděbrad District, the district comprising an area of ​​12.0 square miles and 96 parishes.

In 1900 the district accommodated 77,021 people who lived in an area of ​​694.23 km² or in 103 communities.

In 1910, the Podebrad district covered an area of ​​693.81 km² and a population of 82,610 people. In 1910, 82,299 of the inhabitants stated Czech and 167 German as their colloquial language. There were also 144 foreign speakers or foreigners living in the district. In 1910, the district consisted of three judicial districts with a total of 107 communities and 108 cadastral communities.
