Litomerice District (Kingdom of Bohemia)

The Litoměřice District ( Czech Okresní hejtmanství Litoměřice , politický okres Litoměřice ) was a political district in the Kingdom of Bohemia . The district comprised areas in northern Bohemia in today's Ústecký kraj ( Okres Litoměřice ). Seat of the district administration was the city Litomerice (Litoměřice). The area has belonged to the newly founded Czechoslovakia since 1918 and has been part of the Czech Republic since 1993 .

history

The modern, political districts of the Habsburg Monarchy were created in 1868 when the political and judicial administration was separated.

The district Litomefice in 1868 from the jurisdictions Litomefice (Czech: soudní litoměřice district ), Auscha (Úštěk) and Lobositz ( Lovosice ) is formed.

In 1869, 74,247 people lived in the Leitmeritz district, with the district encompassing an area of ​​11.1 square miles and 170 parishes.

In 1900 the district accommodated 85,309 people who lived in an area of ​​628.13 km² or in 176 communities.

In 1910, the Leitmeritz district covered an area of ​​628.11 km² and a population of 90,740 people. Of the inhabitants, 18,397 had given Czech and 71,439 German as their colloquial language. Furthermore, 904 foreign speakers or foreigners lived in the district. The district included three judicial districts with a total of 177 communities and 178 cadastral communities.
