Příbram district

The district of Příbram ( Czech : Okresní hejtmanství Příbram ) was a political district in the Kingdom of Bohemia . The district included areas in the Central Bohemian Region ( Okres Příbram ). The area has belonged to the newly founded Czechoslovakia since 1918 and has been part of the Czech Republic since 1993 .

The modern political districts of the Habsburg monarchy were created in 1868 when the political and judicial administration was separated.

The district of Příbram was formed in 1868 from the judicial districts of Příbram ( Czech : soudní okres Příbram ) and Dobříš ( Dobříš ).

58,337 people lived in the Příbram district in 1869, the district comprising an area of ​​12.0 square miles and 60 parishes.

In 1900 the district housed 34,513 people who lived in an area of ​​67.86 km² or in 90 communities.

In 1910, the Příbram district covered an area of ​​657.84 km² and had a population of 35,242 people. Of the inhabitants, 29,015 stated Czech and 6178 German as their colloquial language. Furthermore, 49 foreign speakers or foreigners lived in the district. The district included two judicial districts with a total of 91 municipalities and 112 cadastral municipalities, including the four towns of Příbram , Dobříš , Nový Knín and Březové Hory .
