Münchengrätz district

The district of Münchengrätz ( Czech Okresní hejtmanství Mnichovo Hradiště ) was a political district in the Kingdom of Bohemia . The district included areas in what is now the Central Bohemian Region (Okres Mladá Boleslav). The seat of the district administration was the city of Münchengrätz (Mnichovo Hradiště). The area has belonged to the newly founded Czechoslovakia since 1918 and has been part of the Czech Republic since 1993 .

The modern, political districts of the Habsburg Monarchy were created in 1868 when the political and judicial administration was separated.

The district of Münchengrätz was formed in 1868 from the judicial districts of Weißwasser ( Czech soudní okres Bělá ) and Münchengrätz ( Mnichovo Hradiště ).

38,237 people lived in the Münchengrätz district in 1869, with the district encompassing an area of ​​8.1 square miles and 60 parishes.

In 1900 the district accommodated 36,805 people who lived in an area of ​​438.86 km² or in 63 communities.

In 1910 the district of Münchengrätz covered an area of ​​438.86 km² and housed a population of 39,021 people. In 1910, 36,250 of the inhabitants stated Czech and 2,260 German as their colloquial language. Furthermore, 151 people who speak other languages ​​or who are foreign to the state lived in the district. The district included two judicial districts with a total of 63 communities and 71 cadastral communities.
