Přestice district

The district of Přestitz (also: Pschestitz , Czech Okresní hejtmanství Přeštice ) was a political district in the Kingdom of Bohemia . The district comprised areas in western Bohemia in today's Plzeňský kraj ( Okres Plzeň-jih ). The area has belonged to the newly founded Czechoslovakia since 1918 and has been part of the Czech Republic since 1993 .

history

The modern, political districts of the Habsburg Monarchy were created in 1868 when the political and judicial administration was separated.

The district of Přestitz was formed in 1868 from the judicial districts of Přestice ( Czech soudní okres Přeštice ) and Nepomuk ( Nepomuk ).

In 1869, 40,893 people lived in the Přestitz district, the district comprising an area of ​​9.0 square miles and 103 parishes.

In 1900 the district accommodated 43,332 people who lived in an area of ​​517.65 km² or in 103 communities.

In 1910, the Přestitz district covered an area of ​​517.65 km² and a population of 45,298 people. Of the inhabitants, 45,101 stated Czech and 134 German as their colloquial language. In addition, 63 foreign speakers or foreigners lived in the district. The district included two judicial districts with a total of 103 communities and 103 cadastral communities.
