The Neuhaus District ( Czech Okresní hejtmanství Jindřichův Hradec ) was a political district in the Kingdom of Bohemia . The district included areas in the South Bohemian Region ( Okres Jindřichův Hradec ). The seat of the district administration was the town of Neuhaus ( Jindřichův Hradec ). The area has belonged to the newly founded Czechoslovakia since 1918 and has been part of the Czech Republic since 1993 .

The modern, political districts of the Habsburg Monarchy were created in 1868 when the political and judicial administration was separated.

The area of ​​the district of Neuhaus was formed in 1868 from the judicial districts of Neubistritz ( Czech Nová Bystřice ) and Neuhaus ( Jindřichův Hradec ).

The Neuhaus district lived 55,260 people in 1869, with the district encompassing an area of ​​12.2 square miles and 75 parishes.

In 1900 the district accommodated 53,094 people who lived in an area of ​​711.27 km² or in 88 communities.

In 1910 the Neuhaus district covered an area of ​​711.26 km² and a population of 52,409 people. In 1910, 22,293 of the inhabitants indicated German as their colloquial language, 30,017 were Czech-speaking and 99 were foreign or foreign. The judicial district of Neubistritz was almost exclusively inhabited by German speakers. The district included two judicial districts with a total of 90 communities and 107 cadastral communities.
