Rakonitz district

The district of Rakonitz ( Czech Okresní hejtmanství Rakovník ) was a political district in the Kingdom of Bohemia . The district included areas in the Central Bohemian Region ( Středočeský kraj or Okres Rakovník ). The seat of the district administration was the town of Rakonitz ( Rakovník ). The area has belonged to the newly founded Czechoslovakia since 1918 and has been part of the Czech Republic since 1993 .

history

The modern, political districts of the Habsburg Monarchy were created in 1868 when the political and judicial administration was separated. The district of Rakonitz was formed in 1868 from the judicial districts of Rakonitz ( Czech soudní okres Rakovník ) and Püglitz ( Křivoklát ).

The district of Rakonitz lived 46,794 people in 1869, the district comprising an area of ​​11.4 square miles and 61 parishes. In 1900 the district housed 48,576 people who lived in an area of ​​646.44 km² or in 69 communities. The district of Rakonitz covered an area of ​​646.44 km² in 1910 and a population of 51,551 people. Of the residents, 50,642 stated Czech and 840 German as their colloquial language. There were also 24 foreign speakers or foreigners living in the district. The district included two judicial districts with a total of 71 communities and 75 cadastral communities.
