Hohenmauth district

The district Hohenmauth ( Czech Okresní hejtmanství Vysoké Mýto ) was a political district in the Kingdom of Bohemia . The district comprised areas in Eastern Bohemia in today's Pardubický kraj ( Okres Chrudim or Okres Ústí nad Orlicí ). The seat of the district administration was the town of Hohenmauth (Vysoké Mýto). The area has belonged to the newly founded Czechoslovakia since 1918 and has been part of the Czech Republic since 1993 .

The modern, political districts of the Habsburg Monarchy were created in 1868 when the political and judicial administration was separated.

The district of Hohenmauth was formed in 1868 from the judicial districts Skutsch ( Czech soudní okres Skuteč ) and Hohenmauth ( Vysoké Mýto ).

59,435 people lived in the Hohenmauth district in 1869, with the district encompassing an area of ​​9.6 square miles and 98 parishes.

In 1900 the district accommodated 64,981 people who lived in an area of ​​553.24 km² or in 108 communities.

In 1910 the Hohenmauth district covered an area of ​​553.25 km² and housed a population of 68,241 people. In 1910, 67,407 of the population indicated Czech and 705 German as their colloquial language. There were also 129 foreign speakers or foreigners living in the district. The district included two judicial districts with a total of 110 communities and 114 cadastral communities.
