Neubydžow district

The district of Neubydžow ( Czech Okresní hejtmanství Nový Bydžov , place name previously also Neubidschow) was a political district in the Kingdom of Bohemia . The district comprised areas in Eastern Bohemia in today's Královéhradecký kraj ( Okres Hradec Králové ). The seat of the district administration was the town of Neubydžow ( Nový Bydžov ). The area has belonged to the newly founded Czechoslovakia since 1918 and has been part of the Czech Republic since 1993 .

The modern political districts of the Habsburg monarchy were created in 1868 when the political and judicial administration was separated.

The district of Neubydžow was formed in 1868 from the judicial districts of Chlumetz ( Czech soudní okres Clumec ) and Neubydžow ( Nový Bydžov ).

In 1869, 49,385 people lived in the Neubydžow district, with the district covering an area of ​​8.5 square miles and 73 parishes.

In 1900 the district accommodated 55,769 people who lived in an area of ​​491.15 km² or in 89 communities.

The Neubydžow district covered an area of ​​491.16 km² in 1910 and housed a population of 57,905 people. Of the inhabitants in 1910, 57,733 stated Czech and 103 German as their colloquial language. There were also 69 foreign speakers or foreigners living in the district. Two judicial districts with a total of 90 communities and 95 cadastral communities belonged to the district.
