history

The modern, political districts of the Habsburg Monarchy were created in 1868 when the political and judicial administration was separated. The area of the later district of Humpoletz, the judicial district Humpoletz , was merged with the judicial district Deutschbrod to form the district Deutschbrod .

On October 1, 1884, the judicial districts Stecken ( Štoky ) and Polna ( Polná ) were separated from the now dissolved district of Polna in the course of the establishment of the Royal Vineyards District and added to the Deutschbrod district.

The Humpoletz district itself finally came into being on July 1, 1910, when the Humpoletz judicial district separated from the Deutschbrod district and raised to a separate district, the Humpoletz district. The Humpoletz district covered an area of 312.23 km² in 1910 and housed a population of 27,607 people. Of the inhabitants, 27,564 had given Czech and 16 German as their colloquial language. In addition, there were 27 foreign speakers or foreigners living in the district. A judicial district with a total of 52 communities or 68 cadastral communities belonged to the district.
