Okres Pelhřimov (German Pilgrams District ) is located in the western part of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands ( Českomoravská vrchovina ) in the Czech region of Vysočina . In terms of its natural beauties and its unspoilt nature, it is one of the most popular resorts in the Czech Republic. About 73,000 inhabitants live on 1290 square kilometers, making the district the lowest population density in the district.
In the area there are the watersheds of two European rivers, the Danube and the Elbe .
There are around 13,000 companies in the district, which ensure that the district has the lowest unemployment rate in the district at 3.7 percent, although the lowest wages are paid here at 11,894 kroner.
Extensive forests, ponds, rivers and the mountainous landscape make the Pelhřimov area a sought-after recreational destination. The most visited attractions include
