Zachotín (German Sachotin ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located nine kilometers northeast of Pelhřimov and belongs to the Okres Pelhřimov .

geography

Zachotín is located on a hill between the Kladinský potok and Jankovský potok valleys in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands . The Čihadlo (613 m) rises to the north of the village and the Černý vrch (614 m) to the northwest. In the southwest, the Horní and Dolní Kladiny, are two larger reservoirs of 28 and 32 hectares, respectively. There are several mills and farms in the vicinity of the village.

Neighboring towns are Mladé Bříště and Stare Bříště in the north, Mysletín in the Northeast, Buková and Dudín the east, Petrkov and Částonín the southeast, Sedliště and Kladiny in the south, Střítež pod Křemešníkem and Kocourovy Lhotky in the southwest, Žirov the west and Velký Rybník in the northwest.

history

The first written mention of the village comes from 1379. At that time Zachotín belonged to the episcopal rule Řečice . After their division, the place came to the rule Pelhřimov and the Říčanský of Říčany. In 1571 Sebastian Leskovský from Leskovec bought the village from Karel Říčanský.

After the replacement of patrimonial Zachotín became an independent municipality in 1850, to which the district Petrkov belonged. In 1869 the villages Hojkovy and Žirov were added. In 1902, Žirov became independent again, and in 1954, Hojkovy was reassigned to Mladé Bříště . In 1976 Častonín and Mysletín were incorporated . On July 1, 1980, the community Zachotín with all its districts was incorporated into the town of Pelhřimov. Zachotín has been independent again since November 24, 1990.

Asteroid 12468, discovered in 1997, is named after Zachotín.

Community structure

The municipality of Zachotín consists of the districts Částonín ( Tschastonin ), Petrkov ( Peterkow ) and Zachotín ( Sachotin ) as well as the locality Pazderny. Basic settlement units are Častonín and Zachotín.

The municipality is divided into the cadastral districts of Častonín and Zachotín.
