Horní Ves (German Oberdorf ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located three kilometers southwest of Horní Cerekev and belongs to the Okres Pelhřimov .

geography

Horní Ves is in the south of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands on the upper reaches of the Jihlava . The Čížkův vrch (628 m) rises to the northeast, the Na Čtvrtích (658 m) to the east, the Ještěnice (710 m) southeast of the Ještěnice (710 m), the Lísek (759 m) to the southwest and the Hložkův kopec (666 m) to the west. The railway line from Jindřichův Hradec to Pelhřimov / Jihlava runs on the eastern edge of the village .

Neighboring towns are Hříběcí in the north, Horni Cerekev and Švábov in the Northeast, Nad Obci and Medličky the east, Nová Ves in the southeast, Olší, Horni Dubenky and Jihlávka in the south, Lázně Svaté Kateřiny and Leskovec in the southwest, Polesí the west and Bělá and Turovka in Northwest.

history

In the 13th century, a probably wooden castle complex was built on the upper reaches of the Jihlava in the Bohemian-Moravian border forest Borek, which was protected by ponds in the north and east. Later a village was founded near the outer bailey, which was named Horní Ves / Oberdorf after the Horní hrad castle. The castle was owned by Tobias von Bechin and his descendants.

The first written mention of the place comes from the year 1364, when Dietrich von Bechin sold the goods to Ulrich von Pacov. After further changes of ownership, Hynek Kruschina von Lichtenburg acquired the village in the first half of the 15th century . Between 1453 and 1459 Horní Ves was entered in the Moravian land table . Then the place was attached to the Horní Cerekev rule and became part of Bohemia.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Horňoves / Oberndorf a municipality in the district administration Pelhřimov. At the end of the 19th century, the village was assigned to the newly established Kamenice nad Lipou district . Since its abolition in 1948, Horní Ves has belonged again to the Okres Pelhřimov . In 1980 it was incorporated into Horní Cerekev. Since 1990 Horní Ves has formed its own municipality again. Horní Ves has had a coat of arms and a banner since 2001. In the same year Jaroslav Hájek (text) and Jan Lipold (melody) created the Hornoveská polka .

  • Horní hrad castle stables from the 13th century, southwest on a knoll above the village. The remains of the castle were removed after 1832.
