geography
Vyskytná is located northeast of the 765 m high Křemešník on the Vyskytná brook in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands . The Jankovský potok flows east of the village, the entire upper course of which is protected as a national natural monument because of the occurrence of freshwater pearl mussels .
Neighboring towns are Polánky in the north, Dudín in the northeast, Opatov in the east, Jankov in the southeast, Chaloupky, Močáry and Nový Rychnov in the south, Sázava in the southwest, Branišov, Střítež pod Křemešníkem and Sedliště in the west and Částonín in the northwest.
history
Based on archaeological findings, it is certain that the place was founded when the Pelhřimov area was settled at the end of the 12th century. In 1233 the river Vyskytná (Jankovský potok), which flows into the Kletečná ( Želivka ), was designated as the border between the lands of the monastery Želiv and the episcopal rule Červená Řečice . Vyskytná or Gießhübel belonged to the possession of the diocese of Prague and was called Bischöflich Gießhübel or Bohemian Gießhübel to distinguish it from the nearby Gishowel . In 1379 the place was referred to in the royal tax lists as oppidum and between 1390 and 1395 as civitas . Until 1417, Böhmisch Gießhübel belonged to the Červená Řečice estate, after which Jan von Choděnice acquired it. From 1454 the place belonged to Pelhřimov. The place did not recover from its destruction during the Hussite Wars . In 1545 it was only referred to as a village. During the Thirty Years' War the village became deserted, and in the berní rula there were only 8 farms and 4 cottagers; 30 farms were in desolation. In 1682 a festival was built, the corridors of which were distributed to the peasants as part of the Josephine reforms . The first school opened in 1722.
