The Jankovský potok , formerly Vyskytná (German Jankauer Bach ) is a right tributary of the Želivka in the Czech Republic .
geography
The Jankovský potok rises in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands at the northeastern foot of the Křemešník near the village of Jankov . On its way north it flows between Vyskytná and Opatov . Its further course, on which there are numerous water mills, leads over Hovorkův Mlýn, Polánky, Pod Polánkami, U Truplů, Vlčkův Mlýn, Vopálenský Mlýn, Zachotín , Pazderny, Mysletín , U Makovičků, U Brambůsků, Staré Bříště to. Here the brook turns to the northwest and over Zálesí, Mladé Bříště , Rokosův Mlýn, Jonášův Mlýn, Velký Rybník and Záhoří flows to the northwest to Kletečná. The last section leads after a bend in the river to the west between Šimonice and Milouice into a deep rocky valley that ends in the Sedlice dam . Opposite Sedlice , the Jankovský potok joins the Hejlovka to the Želivka after 20.7 kilometers.
history
The Jankovský potok, called Wyskythna in old documents, was fixed in the border document of 1233 as the border between the goods of the Premonstratensian monastery Seelau and the Gau Řečice belonging to the diocese of Prague .
NPP Jankovský potok
The entire upper course of the brook has been protected as a National Natural Monument (NPP) Jankovský potok for 13 km up to the confluence of the Hejnický potok because of its river pearl mussel populations. The natural monument covers an area of 71.14 ha, the entire protected region extends to 323.88 ha.
