history
After Vladislav II left the area east of Chýnov to the Moravian border to the diocese of Prague in 1144 , a fortress was set up as the administrative seat for the newly acquired areas. The Řečice market, which has been documented since 1283, was built around these festivals, which were later expanded into a castle. During Tobias von Bechin's tenure , the einečice estate was expanded. The bishop brought German settlers into the country and gave them land as empyteuse . Under Johann Očko von Wlašim , Biskupská Řečice was granted town charter in 1378. In 1379 the rule Řečice comprised 93 villages, in addition there were 23 free-moving estates ( Nápravníci ) in the Gau Řečice . After the town fire in 1384, Pelhřimov became the main center of episcopal rule. Řečice became the seat of a bailiff who administered the surrounding area.
After the reconstruction, Zbynko Zajíc von Hasenburg confirmed the town charter in 1406. 1415 pledged Konrad von Vechta the rule Pelhřimov including Řečice to Jan von Chotěmice . In 1422 the Taborites conquered Řečice during the Hussite Wars . Subsequently, the rule belonged to different noble families. In 1436 it was bought by Mikuláš Trčka von Lípa , after his death it fell back to the court chamber and in 1454 was divided into the lords of Řečice and Pelhřimov. The widower Heinrich von Stráž became the owner of Řečice . After several changes of ownership in 1496 the lords of Leskovec Řečice acquired. Under the sons of Christoph von Leskovec, Sebastian and Vlachyn, another division took place in 1543, in which the Rychnov dominion was separated.
In 1558 Sebastian von Leskovec received the rule hereditary, it was first referred to as Červená Řečice . In 1560 the conversion of the castle into a renaissance castle began. 1593 acquired the Říčanský from Říčany Červená Řečice. After the Battle of White Mountain in 1623 Jan Říčanský's property was confiscated and Archbishop Ernst Adalbert von Harrach brought him back to the Archdiocese of Prague. During the Thirty Years War the Swedes sacked the city in 1645. In 1669 Červená Řečice burned down completely. The reconstruction took place in a new place directly below the castle.
After the replacement of patrimonial Červená Řečice came in 1850 to the Pelhřimov district. In 1903 a starch factory was established in the city. After the Second World War, the town charter for Červená Řečice was not renewed. In 1948 the palace was nationalized, which until then had been owned by the Prague Archbishopric. In the 1970s, the district archive of Okres Pelhřimov was housed in the castle.
After the Velvet Revolution, city rights were restored. The center of Červená Řečice has been an urban monument zone since 2003.
