Vokov (German Wokow ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is four kilometers south of Pelhřimov and belongs to the Okres Pelhřimov .
geography
Vokov is located in a valley at the foot of the Váňův vršek (586 m) in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands . The Vlásenický potok flows into the Bělá to the east. The railway from Pelhřimov to Jindřichův Hradec runs through the Bělátal , below Vokov is the Rynárec train station.
Neighboring towns are Pelhřimov in the north, Skrýšov in the north-east, Pavlov in the east, Rynárec in the south-east, Libkova Voda and Ondřejov in the south-west, Holákov in the west and Myslotín in the north-west.
history
The first written mention of Vokov comes from 1355. The independent Vokov manor was the seat of the Vladiken von Vokov.
After the replacement of patrimonial Vokov formed a district of Myslotin from 1850. In 1964 Vokov was reclassified to Rynárec and on January 1, 1980, it was incorporated into Pelhřimov together with this community. Since November 24, 1990 the community has been independent again.
