Hojanovice (German Hojanowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located nine kilometers northwest of Humpolec and belongs to the Okres Pelhřimov .
geography
Hojanovice is located in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands on the right-hand side above the Želivka valley by a small stream that flows into the Švihov dam . In the north are the remains of the devastated Zahrádka . The D 1 motorway runs to the southwest .
Neighboring towns are Dolní Paseka and Kamenná Lhota in the north, Podivice in the northeast, Proseč in the east, Kaliště and Lohenice in the southeast, Chvalkovice and Koberovice in the south, Vojslavice in the west and Mešnik and Ježov in the northwest.
history
The first written mention of Hojanovice took place in 1318 in a property register of the Vyšehrad collegiate chapter .
At the end of the 1960s, construction began on the Švihov dam, through which the deeply cut romantic valley in the Želivka river loops to the west of the village sank into a reservoir from 1976.
