Božejov (German Boschejow ) is a place in the Czech Republic . It is located nine kilometers southwest of Pelhřimov and belongs to the Okres Pelhřimov .
geography
Božejov is located in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands on a ridge between the Hejlovka and Střítežský potok valleys . State road 34 / E 551 runs through Božejov between Pelhřimov and Jindřichův Hradec , on which a bypass is currently being built. The Heřmanský kopec (674 m) rises to the south.
Neighboring towns are Ústrašín in the north, Libkova Voda in the north-east, Čelistná in the east, Vlásenice-Drbohlavy in the south-east, Drážďany and Pelec in the south, Nová Ves in the south-west, Střítež in the west and Bor in the north-west.
history
Božejov was established at the beginning of the 13th century. The first written mention of the place took place in 1352. In 2006 Božejov was raised to Městys .

The municipality Božejov consists of the districts Božejov ( Boschejow ) and Nová Ves ( Neudorf ).

- Church of St. Anna with cemetery, west of Božejov, built in 1784
- Church of St. George, on the market, the former Gothic building was redesigned in the 17th century Baroque

- Božejov Castle, in place of a castle built in the 15th century, a castle was built in the 16th and 17th centuries, which today houses the primary school
