history

The village was probably founded in the 12th century during the colonization of the Bohemian-Moravian border forests in Kamenice . At the time of Dobeš from Bechyně and Kamenice (1312-1359), Těmina Kamenice was first mentioned as a parish. The name is derived from the personal name Těmin . After Dobeš's death, the owners took turns in quick succession. Under the influence of Jan Hus , who lived on Kozí Hrádek between 1412 and 1414 , I quickly spread his teaching among the population. In 1414 Anna von Mochov acquired the Kamenice estate. After the Lords of Mochov, Jindřich von Stráž became the owner of Těmina Kamenice in 1436 . Over time, the name of the village in Temnice changed . After the Battle of White Mountain , the population was re-Catholicized. In 1780 a village school was set up in house number 39. In 1815 a new school building was built.

After the abolition of patrimonial Temnice / Temnitz formed from 1850 with the settlement Hřeben a municipality in the district administration Pelhřimov . After the old school had become too small, it moved into a new, larger building in 1887. In 1889, 695 people lived in the 93 houses in Temnice, 680 of whom were Catholics and 15 were Jews. In 1899 the Temnice locality was elevated to a parish. The road to Lidmaň was expanded into a road in 1904. From 1905 the municipality belonged to the Kamenice nad Lipou district . After the number of students had grown to 225, the school was expanded to four classes in 1908. On the basis of the ministerial decision of March 29, 1922, the municipality name was changed to Těmice on November 1, 1923 . After the dissolution of the Okres Kamenice nad Lipou, the community came back to Okres Pelhřimov at the beginning of 1961 . In 1964, Babín was incorporated with Dráchov and Drahoňov with Knížata and Nový Drahoňov. The primary school in Těmice was closed in 1980. In 2006 the church was renovated and the roof structure of the church tower was temporarily removed.
