history

The first written mention of Ústrašín was in 1352 in a register of parishes in the Pelhřimov area . Two years later, the owner of the fortress, Heřman von Ústrašín, was named as the church patron. In 1361 he was followed by Mareš von Ústrašín ( Marschonis de Ustrascin ), who was in the service of Heinrich II von Neuhaus as Burgrave of Rosenstein . The Ústrašín family held the property until the beginning of the 15th century. Since November 20, 1410, the lords of Proseč can be proven to have owned the Ústrašín estate. They attached the goods to the Proseč reign. The manor that was no longer needed fell into disrepair and the Ústrašín fortress was mentioned for the last time in 1468; it was already desolate at that time.

After the abolition of patrimonial Oustraším / Austraschin formed from 1850 a community in the district authority Pelhřimov . At the end of the 19th century the village was called Oustrašín and since 1923 as Ústrašín . In 1976 Ústrašín was incorporated into Božejov . Since 1990 Ústrašín has again formed its own municipality.
