Vojslavice (German Wojslawitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located 18 kilometers north of Pelhřimov and belongs to the Okres Pelhřimov .
geography
Vojslavice is located in a bend in the river on the right side of the Želivka valley, which is flooded with the Švihov drinking water dam . To the north, the village is bypassed by the D 1 route, the next exit of which is in Koberovice . To the west of the village, the Píšť motorway bridge leads over the reservoir.
Neighboring towns are Vranice in the north, Mešnik and Ježov in the north-east, Hojanovice in the east, Koberovice and Lísky in the south-east, Otavožaty in the south, Senožaty in the south-west, Děkančice and Hroznětice in the west and Píšť in the north-west.
history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 1318.
Between 1938 and 1941/42 an arch bridge was built between Vojslavice and Píšť on the planned Prague-Brno motorway over the Želivka . Since the motorway could not be completed due to the Second World War, the already completed bridge was used for a local road from Hořice to Vojslavice. In June 1972, the construction of the Píš Autobahn motorway bridge began, as the flooding of the Želivka valley by the Švihov dam was imminent. The existing bridge received a new upper level for the D 1 . In 1976 the bridge was completed and in 1979 it was opened to traffic.
