Pacov (German Patzau ) is a town with 4,889 inhabitants in the west of the Pelhřimov district in the Czech Republic .
history
The city has two towers. A Gothic St. Michael Church and a Baroque St. Wenceslas Chapel, which form part of the Pacov Castle. The Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) was founded in Patzau in 1903.
In the city there is a castle, a polyclinic, an old people's home, two banks, two elementary schools, a special school, a music school, a high school, a cinema, a gym, two pharmacies, some shops and restaurants. The largest companies are the mechanical engineering company Pacov and the leather factory Uniko Pacov, there are also a few smaller companies. The Pacov TV station broadcasts from the Stražiště mountain (744 m) north of the town.
City structure
The town of Pacov consists of the districts Bedřichov ( Friedrichshof ), Jetřichovec ( Jetrichowitz ), Pacov ( Patzau ), Roučkovice ( Rautschkowitz ), Velká Rovná ( Groß Rowna ) and Zhoř ( Shorsch ). Basic settlement units are Bedřichov, Hrádek, Chroustky, Jetřichovec, K oboře, K Trucbabě, Na Propadě, Pacov-střed, Roučkovice, Trucbaba, U nádraží, V hnízdech, Velká Rovná and Zhoř.
The municipality is divided into the cadastral districts Bedřichov u Zhořce, Jetřichovec, Pacov, Roučkovice, Velká Rovná and Zhoř u Pacova.

Pacov train station is located southeast of the city center on the Tábor – Horní Cerekev railway line and is served several times a day by regional trains operated by the Czech railway CD .
