Proseč (German Prosetsch ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located seven kilometers north of Humpolec and belongs to the Okres Pelhřimov .

Proseč is located in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands .
Neighboring towns are Staré Hutě and Dobrá Voda Lipnická in the north, Záběhlice in the northeast, Řečice in the east, Pusté Lhotsko and Budíkov in the southeast, Světlice and Horní Rápotice in the south, Háj in the southwest and Kaliště and Podivice in the west.
history
Proseč was first mentioned in documents as the seat of the brothers Ondřej, Hroch and Beneš von Proseč in 1391. The fortress was already in ruins at the time when the property became part of Lipnice nad Sázavou in the 2nd half of the 15th century. The existence of a village has been handed down since 1538 and there has been no news of the fortress since the Trčka von Lípa acquired ownership in 1547.
