history

The first written mention of Arnosstowicze took place in 1403. The place was originally part of the Řečice rule belonging to the Archdiocese of Prague and then came into the possession of Ondřej Šafrán von Bělá, who sold it in 1403 to the Vyšehrad chapter. The origin of the place name, which can be derived from a locator Arnešt or the Prague Archbishop Ernst von Pardubitz, is unclear . It is possible that the four ponds that used to be in the village square are the ponds mentioned by the chronicler Benesch von Weitmühl , which the bishop had built near Řečice.

After the destruction of Vyšehrad by the Hussites, the place passed into the possession of the Lords of Loutkov and has been part of the neighboring Loutkov rule since 1457 . In 1539 Hynek acquired from Žampach and Potštejn the rule Hořepník including Loutkov. The following owners were the Skuhrovský von Skuhrov, Kekulé von Stradonitz and Španovský von Lisov. In 1639 Joachim Španovský sold his property to Humprecht Račínov from Račín on Hrádek and in the middle of the 17th century the Martinic owners of Arneštovice.

The village is listed as Arneschtowitz on the map of the Kingdom of Bohemia made by Johann Christoph Müller in 1720 . In 1757 Count Josef Martinic sold the Loutkov-Hořepník reign, which had been reunited after the fire in Loutkov Castle, to the Congregation of St. Louis of Montfort. After the Josephine reforms, it merged with the Welschen Hospital in Prague in 1777. Until 1751 the place belonged to the Bechyň district and then until 1850 to the Tábor district. In 1791 Wenceslaus Bechin, Knight of Lazan, acquired the Hořepník rule. Further owners were from 1804 Josef Erben, from 1807 Anton Ritter von Petz, from 1813 Ignaz Löffelmann, from 1820 Anton Rombald and from 1836 Josef Pistorius. After the abolition of patrimonial was Arneschtowicze an independent community and contributed in 1854 the official name Arnoštovice . From 1868 the village belonged to the Pelhřimov District Commission and from 1918 to the Pelhřimov District. The seat of the district court was Pacov from 1850 to 1949 and then Pelhřimov. The name of the place was changed to Arneštovice in 1886 in order to avoid confusion with the then also independent municipality Arnoštovice . In 1907 the place had 245 inhabitants. In 1976 it was incorporated into Košetice. Since 1990 Arneštovice has been independent again.
