The Bechinie von Lazan (Czech Bechinie z Lažan , plural Bechyňové z Lažan ) belong to the old Bohemian nobility. They come from the Silesian noble family von Seydlitz / Seidlitz , which branched out into several families.

history

The nickname Lazan was derived from the place Lazan or Laasan belonging to the Duchy of Schweidnitz and used by the family since the beginning of the 14th century. The Seydlitz / Seidlitz / Zedlitz family originally lived in Silesia . There she was one of the five oldest noble families. On April 9, 1241, members of the family fought alongside Duke Henry the Pious in the battle of Wahlstatt against the Tatars . For centuries, the family held numerous important offices, including castellani and governor. The main team of the Principality of Wroclaw was hereditary in the family.

The progenitor of the Bechinie von Lazan was the royal chamberlain and governor of Breslau Heinrich von Lazan . After he had acquired the South Bohemian castle Bechyně and the rulership of the same name by exchanging the East Bohemian dominions Nachod and Hummel in 1414 , his descendants initially called themselves Seidlitz from "Lazan with the seat of Bechin" and from the middle of the 15th century "Bechinie von Lazan" .

After Heinrich's death the inheritance was divided between his two sons: Hynko ( Heinrich ) received the rule Krakovec , his brother Johann, called Bechyňek († before 1467) the rule Bechyně. After Hynko von Lazan died, the Krakovec rule fell to Johann, which he sold in 1437. Between 1440 and 1445 Johann Bechyňek von Lazan acquired the Podol part of the Rataje domain .

After Johann Bechyňek died, property was divided among his sons in 1477. In the same year he lost the rule of Bechyně to the Lords of Sternberg , so that he only had the Podol share. Before 1493, his brother Ulrich bought the Pičín estate from Peter Kořenský von Terešov . From this the Pitschiner and Bernarditzer lines of the Bechinie von Lazan were formed.

In 1515, the Pitschiner estates were divided among Ulrich's numerous sons. It was u. a. formed the Langen-Lhota estate , which Nikolaus Bechinie received from Lazan.

Peter Bechinie von Lazan auf Bernarditz sold the Podol share to Christoph Haslauer von Haslau in 1594 , ten years later he also sold his half of the town of Bernarditz.

In 1615 Albrecht Bechinie von Lazan bought the Rozsochatec estate , from whom the Rossochatetz line of the Lazan Bechinie descended. Because of Abraham Bechinie von Lazan's participation in the class uprising , the Rozsochatec estate was converted into a fiefdom in 1626.

On May 30, 1712, Franz Leopold Bechinie von Lazan was raised from the Rossochatetz line to the Bohemian and hereditary baron class. The same took place on September 24, 1737 for Franz Carl Bechinie von Lazan from the Pitschiner line.
