Olešná (German Woleschna ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located three kilometers northeast of Pelhřimov and belongs to the Okres Pelhřimov .

geography

Olešná is located on both sides of the Olešná stream of the same name in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands .

Neighboring towns are Služátky and Chvojnov in the north, Rybníček and Jelcovy Lhotky in the northeast, Strměchy in the east, Plevnice in the southeast, Chválov and Řemenov in the south, Pelhřimov in the southwest, Hamr and Radětín in the west and Krasíkovice and Služátky in the northwest.

history

Olešná was first mentioned in a document in 1379. The area was part of the Řečice estate belonging to the Archdiocese of Prague . At that time there were two settlements, Česká Olešná ( Bohemian Woleschna ) with nine hooves and Německá Olešná ( German Woleschna ) with six and a half hooves of land. Some of the hooves were free property, others were subservient.

Archbishop Konrad von Vechta sold the Pelhřimov and Řečice estates with all accessories to the knight Jan von Chotěmice in 1415 . When the Řečice estates were divided by Ladislaus Postumus , Olešná fell to the larger part that Jindřich von Stráž received in 1454. At the end of the 15th century, the knights Leskovec von Leskov became owners of the estate. Within the family, inheritance divisions were made that also affected Olešná. After the Battle of White Mountain , the Leskovecs lost their property and the Archdiocese of Prague took back the rule of Řečice. Olešná belonged to this rule until the abolition of patrimonial rule in 1848.

In 1900 Olešná had 366 inhabitants. Until 1909 Olešná, Plevnice, Řemenov and Chválov formed one municipality. On September 21, 1909, Plevnice left and became independent. In 1921 Řemenov also went into independence with Chválov. A brick factory was built east of Olešná in 1928. In 1964 the three municipalities Olešná, Řemenov, and Plevnice merged. On March 23, 1969, two jet fighters collided in the air space above Olešná. 1979 Olešná was incorporated into Pelhřimov.
