history

The first documentary mention of villa Boreticz ad Horzepnik took place in 1300. The village is named after a locator called "Bořat". The place was originally part of the Řečice rule belonging to the Archdiocese of Prague and then came into the possession of various noble families. Bořetice became part of the Loutkov domain .

In the Račín forest there is said to have been a Račín castle, which is said to have been destroyed by the Hussites during their journey from Pelhřimov to Choustník castle . Jan Albrecht bought the village from Lords Španovský von Lisov and in 1596 assigned it to his wife Katharina von Albendorf. At the beginning of the 17th century, Christoph Wratislaw von Mitrowitz became the owner of Bořetice. In 1619 war people camped near the village, which then moved on to the Konipas fortress near Březina. In the Berní rula the village was called Borželicze . In 1928 a memorial was erected for the victims of the First World War.
