Věžná (German Wieschna ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located five kilometers northeast of Černovice and belongs to the Okres Pelhřimov .

geography

Věžná is located in the south of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands on the right bank of the Vintířovský creek. The Svidník ( Swidnik , 739 m) rises to the southwest . To the northeast is the former military airfield Kámen. State road 128 between Černovice and Pacov runs through the village .

Neighboring towns are Dvořiště, Šimpach, Kejtův Mlýn and in the north, Kámen in the north-east, Vysoká Lhota and Peklůvko in the east, Dobrá Voda u Pacova , Tvrziny and Lhotka in the south-east, Vintířov and Moudrov in the south, Brnský Mlýláwester in the south and Brnáwest West and Obrataň in the northwest.

history

The first documentary evidence of the village came in 1358 when the church was first mentioned.

The school was built in 1840 and is now the seat of the local government. After the abolition of patrimonial Věžná / Wiežna formed from 1850 with the district Brny a municipality in the district administration Pelhřimov . In 1880 a new cemetery was built on the eastern periphery, which gradually replaced the cemetery at the church. Between 1947 and 1960 Věžná belonged to the Okres Pacov and came back to the Okres Pelhřimov after its abolition . In 1980 it was incorporated into Obrataň . In 1990 the Věžná community was re-established.

The building of the former school is now the seat of the municipal administration. The cemetery is shared by five communities. Věžná consists of 76 houses.

Community structure

The municipality Věžná consists of the districts Brná ( Birna ) and Věžná ( Wieschna ), which also form cadastral districts.

Attractions

  • Church of St. Georg, the church that has been documented since 1358, was elevated to a parish church in 1384. It received its present form during the renovation in 1733. On its outer walls there are eleven tombs of the Malovec family from Malovice on Kámen from 1558 to 1630. The altar was built in 1764.
