history

The first written mention of the Hořepník manor took place in 1252 as the property of Vladiken Bedřich von Hořepník. Its seat was Konipas Castle, which was also known as Hořepník and was located near Březina on a steep spur above the Trnávka. In 1299 Wenceslaus II sold the Konipas castle with half of the town Hořepník and the villages Přáslavice, Lesná , Březina and Kyjov and the desert villages Opatovice and Smolín to Dětoch von Třebelovice. In 1334 Ulrich III. von Neuhaus took over the rule of Konipa. He was followed in 1354 by his son Ulrich IV. This sold Konipas between 1360 and 1361 to Jeník von Mezimostí. In 1411 Peter von Konipas acquired the rule, from 1419 it belonged to Jan von Chotěmice . He was followed by Nikolaus von Landstein and the Prague burgrave Johann von Kralowitz , who had owned the Loutkov fortress since 1431. Between 1442 and 1457 Konipas Castle fell into desolation. The seat of the unified Hořepník-Loutkov dominion was the Loutkov Fortress. In 1451 Jan Sádlo von Smilkov received the property from his mother Marta von Březí, the widow of Johann von Kralowitz. After his death, property was divided among relatives and in 1465 Hořepník came to Petr Břekovec of Ostromeč, who connected the goods to the Kámen castle . In 1491 King Vladislav II granted the town the privilege of holding two annual markets. At the end of the 15th century, Hořepník was separated from Kámen.

1534 acquired Hynek Žampach from Potštejn Hořepník and Loutkov. In 1540 he allowed business activities to be carried out freely in Hořepník and the suburb of Oulehle. In the same year the city received its own magistrate, which existed until 1800. The oldest town book dates from 1541. Between 1544 and 1548, the reunited estate belonged to Bedřich Černčický von Kácov , who was married to Hynek's sister Žofka. Then Heinrich Kekulé von Stradonitz and his sons Wenzel and Adam owned the rule. In 1577 Wenzel Kekulé Stradonitz tried to subject the city to full servitude. The dispute over the privileges lasted until 1669. From 1578 to 1639 the Španovský von Lisov followed, then the Račín family from Račín and between 1669 and 1757 the Count Martinic . In 1670 Maximilian Valentin Martinic granted the city freedom again. In 1757 Count Josef Martinic sold the unified Loutkov-Hořepník estate to the Congregation of St. Louis of Montfort in Prague. After the Josephine reforms, it merged with the Welschen Hospital in Prague in 1777. In 1791 Wenceslaus Bechin, Knight of Lazan, acquired the Hořepník rule. Further owners were from 1804 Josef Erben, from 1807 Anton Ritter von Petz, from 1813 Ignaz Löffelmann, from 1820 Anton Rombald and from 1836 Josef Pistorius.

After the abolition of patrimonial Hořepník formed from 1850 with the district Loutkov a municipality in the district authority Pelhřimov . In 1862 Hořepník, including the suburb of Úlehle, consisted of 126 houses. The population consisted of 825 Catholics and 144 Jews. The goods in Hořepník were bought by the large landowner Ladislav Horák on Březina from the Pistorius family at the end of the 19th century. On February 29, 1892, a city fire destroyed 17 houses. In 1899 six houses on the market burned down. A flood of the Trnávka flooded parts of the city on May 16, 1911. A resident drowned and the bridge to Vítovice was destroyed. One of the first reinforced concrete bridges was built in its place in 1912 according to plans by Stanislav Bechyně . In 1911 Hořepník and Loutkov merged into one. In 1948 Hořepník lost its town charter. Between 1949 and 1960 the community was assigned to the Okres Pacov. After its dissolution, it came back to Okres Pelhřimov in 1961 , at the same time Březina and Rovná (with Vítovice) were incorporated. In 1989 Mašovice, which had previously belonged to Útěchovice , was reassigned to Hořepník. Since 1992, Rovná has formed its own municipality again.
