Johann von Kralowitz

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Johann von Kralowitz (Czech Jan z Kralovic ) (died 1430 in Zittau) was a Bohemian warrior of the Hussites .

Johann descended from the regional nobility and was first mentioned in 1426 in the battle of Aussig . At this point he was already an orphan captain. He continued to take part in the Battle of Tachau and the Siege of Pilsen (1427). Together with the priest Prokůpek, he besieged Lichtenburg Castle near Tschaslau for a year in 1428 . Because of a lack of provisions, he moved with his Heet to the region of Zittau , raided some villages and robbed them of their food. On his return he was attacked by Zittau and Görlitz armies near Machendorf. Although he was able to repel the attack, he suffered heavy losses. In 1429 he belonged to the Prague judges and in the same year led the armies of orphans on their way to Saxony, Meißen and Vogtland. After the Battle of Lipan on May 30, 1434, he is no longer mentioned.
