Zhořec (German Shorschetz , formerly Zhoretz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located four kilometers northwest of Pacov and belongs to the Okres Pelhřimov .
geography
Zhořec is located in the south of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands . The village is located on the southern slope of the Pyramida ( Zhoretzberg , 639 m). To the west is the valley of the brook Vodický potok, in the southeast the Panský potok rises. The Panský les forest extends to the east.
Neighboring towns are Velka Cerna and Jetřichovec in the north, Hladov in the Northeast, Hradek in the east, Trucbaba and Pacov in the southeast, Bedřichov in the south, Velká Rovná in the southwest, Staňkův Mlyn, Ondrejka, Hrstky and Zadní Střítež in the west and Zhoř and Těchobuz in the northwest.
history
The first written mention of the village took place in 1316. In the 14th century the place belonged to the possessions of the Choustník Castle . In the course of history the name of the village changed from Zhoř Vysoká , Zhoř Zadní to Zhorec . In 1842 287 people lived in the 34 houses in the village. The parish was Zhoř.
After the abolition of patrimonial Zhorec / Zhoretz formed a district of the municipality Zhoř in the district administration Pelhřimov . In 1921 the village broke away from Zhoř and formed its own municipality under the name Zhořec . In 1938 Zhořec had just under 200 inhabitants. Between 1948 and 1960 the community was assigned to the Okres Pacov and came back to the Okres Pelhřimov at the beginning of 1961 after its abolition . Zhořec was electrified around 1950. In 1960 the connecting road to Bedřichov was built. Zhořec has been connected to Jetřichovec by a side road since 1975. In 1980 it was incorporated into Pacov. Since 1990 Zhořec has formed its own municipality again.
