history
The first written mention of the village belonging to the Strahov Monastery was made in 1273 under the Latin name Sonebnar , which was probably derived from the German name Schoenebrunne that the village had. In 1410 the village in the Strahover Urbar was recorded as villa Bratrzetycze dicta Ssunebrunne .
After the Hussite Wars , various noble families owned Schönbrunn, and it was during this time that the place name Bratřetice was first found . During the Thirty Years' War, Bratřetice belonged to the property that was confiscated after the Battle of White Mountain and Strahov Monastery took the opportunity to get back its old goods. The district of Cetule has been traceable since 1614. After the end of the Thirty Years War, a forge was built in the village square.
In 1836 the parish Velká Chyška on Černý rybník founded the Jarolímka glassworks, for whose operation the wood of the parish forest was used. After 40 years of operation, it was shut down because the wood stocks had been used up. In 1878 a wooden lookout tower was built on Stražiště, which was replaced by a higher one in the 1930s. In 1964 it was removed.
