history

Chapel on the village square

The first documentary mention of a village villa Rapoticz took place in 1352 by the chapter on Vyšehrad . This may mean today's Dolní Rapotice , because the oppidum Kralowicz , villa Martinicz and oppidum Zahradka were named at the same time . The name of the place is derived from the name Rapota. In the deed of ownership issued by Emperor Sigismund in 1436 for the villages of Rapotice, Kaliště and Světlice, however, the present day Horní Rápotice is definitely mentioned.

During the Thirty Years War in 1639 Swedes plundered the area and devastated the city of Lipnice nad Sázavou . After the battle of jankau the Swedish general held Robert Douglas the castle Lipnice occupied and plundered the surrounding regions. During this time the village probably fell into desolation, as it was not mentioned afterwards. In 1787 the village was named Ober Rapotitz to distinguish it from the other - now known as Unter Rapotitz - place. The name Hornj Rapotice can be traced back to 1843 .

Until the abolition of patrimonial in 1848 Horní Rápotice was subject to Dolní Kralovice . Then the place became an independent municipality, to which the district Světlice belonged until the 1920s. In 1979 Horní Rápotice was incorporated into Humpolec and has been independent again since January 1st, 1994.
