Libkova Voda (German Lipkowawoda , also Lipkowa Woda , 1939–45 Libekswasser ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located seven kilometers south of Pelhřimov and belongs to the Okres Pelhřimov .

geography

Libkova Voda is located in the southwest of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands on a ridge above the Hejlovka and Vlásenický potok valleys . To the north rises the Zelený vrch, in the northeast of the Vokovsko (573 m) and Bečkův vrch (573 m), east of the Holý kopec (626 m), in the southeast of the Hrádek (657 m), south of the Vaškův kopec (612 m) and Slavík (639 m) and the Orlov (674 m) to the west.

Neighboring towns are Ondřejov , Holákov and Myslotín in the north, Na Obci, Vokov and Rynárec in the Northeast, Zajíčkov and Rovná in the east, Vratišov, Křížků and Čelistná the southeast, Valkovna, Vlásenický Dvůr and Vlásenice-Drbohlavy in the south, Božejovský Mlyn, Božejov and Střítež in the southwest, Drbalův Mlýn and Bor in the west and Ústrašín in the northwest.

Libkova Voda Castle

The first written mention of the village Luconis siue Lybconis was made in 1352 in a register of parishes in the Pelhřimov area . The place name is derived from the personal name Lubek ( Libek ). Further place names were until the 15th century Libicow , Libconis aqua , Luconis aqua siue Libconis , Libcouauoda , Lybkowa woda , Libkowa woda , Luconyss Aqua siue Libkowa woda and Libcowa woda . Since 1355 the village belonged to the Božejov rule . During this time the owners were u. a. the family Štítný from Štítné. In 1584 Libkova Voda was subordinate to Horní Cerekev . In 1659 102 people lived in the village.

In 1810, Leopold Srnka, former director of the Světlá nad Sázavou estate, bought the Libkova Voda estate. After he had bought the large estate Vlásenice-Drbohlavy from Michal Adler, Srnka Libkova Voda joined the Vlásenice-Drbohlavy in 1816. The villages Libkova Voda, Čelistná , Vlásenice-Drbohlavy and Vratišov were subordinate to the manor . The labor to be performed was greater than in the neighboring Pelhřimov rule. In 1842 the place consisted of 42 houses and had 379 inhabitants.

After the abolition of patrimonial Lipková Voda / Lipkowawoda formed from 1850 a community in the district administration Pelhřimov . At that time, 478 people lived in the village. In 1851 Karl Komers Freiherr von Lindenbach bought the estate. In 1890 Libkova Voda had 509 inhabitants. In 1921 there were only 440. Since 1923 the place name Libkova Voda has been in use. 1Some of the inhabitants had moved to the border areas after the Second World War and settled in Krásné Údolí . In 1950, 304 people lived in the 66 houses. 1980 Libkova Voda was incorporated into Pelhřimov. Since 1990 Libkova Voda has formed its own parish again.

Attractions

  • Church of St. Peter and Paul, the church, built around 1340, was given its current appearance after several fires during the renovation in 1873.
  • Libkova Voda Castle, the classicist building was built on the site of an old festival for the Srnka family. In 1841 the 17-year-old Bedřich Smetana stayed with Leopold Srnka at Libkova Voda Castle and in Pošná . The barons Komers owned Lipková Voda between 1851 and 1902. They then left it to their Viennese tailor Franz Humal. He entrusted Josef Berounský with the management of the 446.12 hectare estate including the castle, courtyard and a distillery. In 1908 Leopold Zweig acquired the castle, which he also lived in for four years. In 1912 the property passed to the Prague floor bank ( Pozemková Banka ), which sold it to Bohumil Kulík in 1916. His son-in-law Eduard Slavík inherited the Beitz in 1936. In 1948 he was expropriated and in 1949 the property was assigned to the Pelhřimov state estate.
