The Želivka (German Zeliwka ) is a tributary of the Sázava in the Czech Republic .

It rises as Hejlovka near Vlásenice-Drbohlavy at an altitude of 631 m above sea level. M. It flows into the Sázava after 98.9 kilometers at Soutice at an altitude of 312 m above sea level. M. The river basin covers 1,189 square kilometers.

Hejlovka first flows north in an open valley, after Pelhřimov it crosses forests. From the confluence of Jankovský potok in the Sedlice dam (Sedlická nádrž) at kilometer 63, the river is called Želivka. The direction now taken runs northeast.

An important water reservoir, the Švihov dam , has been built on the river to provide Prague with drinking water. In 1974, the town of Dolní Kralovice , the Zahrádka and the towns of Horní Kralovice, Příseka and Libčice were demolished and flooded with the jam between 1975 and 1976.
