Píšť (German Pischt ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located 19 kilometers north of Pelhřimov on the D 1 motorway and belongs to the Okres Pelhřimov .
geography
Píšť is located on the left side of the Želivka valley, which is flooded with the Švihov drinking water dam , on a ridge in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands . To the north lies the hill Hrušovec (483 m) above the valley of Blažejovický potok, to the west the motorway exit 75 Hořice , in the south the Píšť motorway bridge leads over the reservoir.
Neighboring towns are Blažejovice in the north, Vranice in the north-east, Mešnik and Hojanovice in the east, Vojslavice in the south-east, Hroznětice in the south, Hořice in the south-west, Rachyně in the west and Vítonice in the north-west.
history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 1352.
In June 1972, the construction of the Píš Autobahn motorway bridge began, as the flooding of the Želivka valley by the Švihov dam was imminent. In 1979 the bridge was opened to traffic.

The municipality Píšť consists of the districts Píšť ( Pischt ) and Vranice ( Wranitz ), which also form cadastral districts.
