Around 1584 the Nová Buková manor was detached and the owner Arnošt Leskovec had a fortress built in 1590. In 1692 Nová Buková was again added to the Horní Cerekev rule and remained a part of it until the patrimonial rule was replaced.
In 1850 the community Nová Buková was established, which was attached to Horní Cerekev in 1975. Since 1992 Nová Buková has been a municipality again.
