Vyklantice (German Wiklantitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located 19 kilometers northwest of Pelhřimov and belongs to the Okres Pelhřimov .

geography

Vyklantice is located at the foot of the Holý vrch (703 m) and Kamenný vrch (626 m), the northeastern foothills of the Stražiště (744 m), in the headwaters of the Smrdovský potok in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands . To the east rises the 633 m high Altán.

Neighboring towns are Starý Smrdov in the north, Tříznicko, Blažnov, Petrovsko and Kramolín in the northeast, Buřenice in the east, Babice in the south-east, Útěchovice pod Stražištěm in the south, Týmova Ves in the west and Kateřinky, Lukavec and Nový Smrdov in the north-west.

history

The first written mention of the village took place in 1410. Vielanticum belonged to the Velká Chyška domain until 1553 and was then sold to Václav Mahanec. Felix Koslov von Košetice bought the village from him .

In the 18th century, the Kateřinky settlement was founded in the woods below the Holý vrch by convicts released from the Peterwardein fortress .

Community structure

The municipality Vyklantice consists of the districts Kateřinky ( Katharindorf ), Nový Smrdov ( New Smerdow ), Starý Smrdov ( Old Smerdow ), Petrovsko ( Petrowitz ), Nové Vyklantice ( New Wiklantitz ) and Staré Vyklantice ( Old Wiklantitz ). Basic settlement units are Kateřinky, Nový Smrdov, Starý Smrdov and Vyklantice.

Attractions

  • The baroque castle Staré Vyklantice, built in 1720 for Joachim Graf von Harrach with an H-shaped floor plan, is surrounded by a park. The ruined castle has been privatized and is gradually being restored.
  • Chapel of St. Anna on Svatá Anna hill near Petrovsko
  • Church of St. John of Nepomuk
  • Stražiště with the pilgrimage chapel of St. John at a miraculous spring as well as television and radio stations
