Chýstovice (German Cheystowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located eleven kilometers northwest of Červená Řečice and belongs to the Okres Pelhřimov .

geography

Chýstovice is located in the southwest of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands on a left tributary to the Martinický potok ( Goldbach ). The Kočihrady (561 m) rises to the northeast. To the east is the Martinický rybník reservoir. The village is located on the state road 112 between Čechtice and Červená Řečice .

Neighboring towns are Růžkovy Lhotice in the north, Krčmy and Skoranovice in the north-east, Chyšná in the east, Martinice u Onšova , Borek and Košetice in the south-east, Červův Mlýn, Mikešův Mlýn and Nová Ves in the south, Kramolín and Jedlina in the south- west as well as , Křešín and Mohelnicešín Čeněnice and Malá Paseka in the north-west.

history

The area probably belonged to the Slavnikid family . According to ancient writings, Duke Slavník von Zlic had a wooden church built on the mountain above Onšov . Presumably this took place around 980 during Slavník's lifetime, the traditional date 995 is unlikely, since Slavník was murdered in 981 in Libice nad Cidlinou . In 1088 Vratislav II presented his wife Swatawa with a district owned by the Vyšehrad Chapter , which lay between the rivers Želivka and Goldbach (Martinický potok) and whose center was Kralowitz . In 1144, Vladislav II divided the district between the Seelau monastery and the diocese of Prague . The area around Chýstovice came under the episcopal rule Řečice . In 1233, in a deed of ownership of the monastery, the Borek forest south of the present-day village on Martinický potok was named as the north-western border of the monastic rule.

In 1360 , a guard house was built on the trade route Via Humpolencis, which led from Prague via Benešov , Vlašim , Čechtice through the valley of the Goldbach and on to Humpolec and Jihlava . In the years that followed, a small settlement called Chejstovice or Cheystowitz arose in the vicinity of the road guard around a round village square with a pond. Allegedly, the place name should be derived from the prompt to stop Hej stoj .

After the replacement of patrimonial Chejstovice / Cheystowitz formed from 1850 a district of the political municipality Černičí in the district administration Ledetsch . A little later Dolní Kralovice became the seat of the district court . From 1880 Chejstovice together with the district Jedlina formed a separate municipality. Since 1923 the village has been called Chýstovice . From 1949 Chýstovice belonged to the Okres Pacov. After its dissolution, the community was assigned to the Okres Pelhřimov in 1961. In 1976 it was incorporated into Košetice . At the beginning of 1992 Chýstovice and Jedlina broke away from Košetice and have since formed their own municipality. The former school now serves u. a. as the seat of the municipal office and cultural events.
