Chyšná is located in the southwest of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands on a ridge between two small tributaries to the Martinický potok ( Goldbach ). The Kočihrady (561 m) rises to the northeast. The Martinický rybník reservoir is located to the southeast.

Neighboring towns are Krčmy in the north, Skoranovice and Popovický Dvůr in the northeast, Těškovice and Krčma in the east, Onšov and Martinice u Onšova in the southeast, Borek, Košetice , U Hánových and Nová Ves in the south, Červův Mlýn, Kramlina, Mikewšův Mlýn and Jedwesten Mlýn , Chýstovice and Čeněnice in the west and Malá Paseka and Růžkovy Lhotice in the northwest.

history

Archaeological finds date back to the Hallstatt period . Chyšná arose near the medieval trade route Via Humpolencis, which led from Prague via Benešov , Vlašim , Čechtice , Krčmy, Onšov and Skoranovice through the valley of the Goldbach and on via Humpolec and Jihlava in the Balkans and the Orient. The area probably belonged to the Slavnikid family . According to ancient writings, Duke Slavník von Zlic had a wooden church built on the mountain above Onšov. Presumably this took place around 980 during Slavník's lifetime, the traditional date 995 is unlikely, since Slavník was murdered in 981 in Libice nad Cidlinou . In 1088 Vratislav II presented his wife Swatawa with a district owned by the Vyšehrad Chapter , which lay between the rivers Želivka and Goldbach (Martinický potok) and whose center was Kralowitz . In 1144, Vladislav II divided the district between the Želiv monastery and the diocese of Prague . The area around Chyšná came under the episcopal rule Řečice .

The first written mention of the village Lhota Chyšná took place in 1305 when John of Luxembourg bought Křivsoudov . The initiator of this purchase was the abbot of the Sedletz monastery, Heinrich Heidenreich, who five years later also brokered the marriage of Queen Elisabeth with Johann von Luxemburg. In 1777, due to the patent of Queen Maria Theresa, the Chyšná farmyard was parceled out and a settlement of seven families was founded. In the 19th century, the inhabitants of the village were valued as masons and carpenters in the wide area.

After the replacement of patrimonial Chyšná / Chyschna formed from 1850 a district of the political municipality Černičí in the district administration Ledetsch . A little later Dolní Kralovice became the seat of the district court . In 1905 a three-class school was built in Onšov by the builders from Chyšná, which from then on the children from Chyšná should also attend. As a result, the residents of Chyšná build their own school house in the village, which began teaching in the same year as a branch of the school in Onšov. From 1949 Chyšná belonged to the Okres Pacov as a district of Martinice u Onšova . After its dissolution, Chyšná came to Okres Pelhřimov in 1961 together with Martinice u Onšova . In 1976 it was incorporated into Košetice . At the beginning of 1992, Chyšná broke away from Košetice and has since formed its own municipality.
