Polesí (German Rimberg ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands 15 kilometers south of Pelhřimov and 25 km northeast of Jindřichův Hradec .
geography
Polesí is located on the upper reaches of the Počátecký potok on both sides of the brook, which feeds a large number of ponds. Neighboring towns are Bělá in the north, Turovka in the northeast, Léskovec in the east, Heřmaneč in the southeast, Počátky in the south, Jakubín and Ctiboř in the west and Veselá in the northwest.
history
The first written mention of the place comes from the year 1457. In 1856 the chapel of St. John of Nepomuk was consecrated. Rimberg belonged to the judicial district of Potschatek and the political district of Kamnitz an der Linde . In 1950 the place name Rymberk was changed to Polesí.
Attractions
The large chapel of St. John of Nepomuk in the center of the village from the middle of the 19th century is the symbol of Polesí.
