history

Uwe Weitendorf , who has been running Chronos-Verlag since 1970, founded the Verlag für Kindertheater in 1973. The aim was to revive the enthusiasm for children's theater and to act as a contact person for performances. The first success was Kikerikiste, the first play by Sams author Paul Maar . In addition to original children's theater pieces, a second focus was the processing of literary models.

The company is also involved in the market for musicals for children. Among other things, the musicals for Pippi Longstocking , Emil and the detectives and The Olchis clean up were created . In particular, the works of Verlag Oetinger and Cecilie Dressler Verlag are published, but child-friendly versions of classics such as William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream or Mozart's Magic Flute can also be found in the overall program.

After Uwe Weitendorf's death, his daughter Julia Bielenberg has been running the publishing house since 1996 .
