history
In 981 Chýnov was first mentioned in Kosmas Chronicle . Together with Doudleby (Teindles) and Netolice (Netolitz) it belonged to the rulership of Prince Slavník and at the same time served the Slavnikids as an outpost against attacks from Austria. After the Slavíkovci were exterminated, the lands passed to the Přemyslids . The original fortress was converted into a Gothic castle in the 13th century, which at the time belonged to the Archdiocese of Prague . In the following years numerous noble families changed ownership, the last owners were the Schwarzenbergs . The last major conversion into a baroque palace with a large English garden took place between 1729 and 1730.
