Power balance (power engineering)
In electrical power engineering , the power balance describes the sum of the apparent powers of the consumers to be expected in the electrical system. The power balance of electrical energy (energy technology) is calculated from the installed electrical power , i.e. from the sum of all electrical consumers .
In a first stage, all electrical consumers of the network distribution are combined and linked with a simultaneity g . The simultaneity factors (rated load factor, English Rated Diversity Factor , RDF) are here usually between g = 0.1 g = 1.0.
In the next level, the consumers of the higher-level distribution level, for example the low-voltage main distribution system (LVHV), are combined. In this distribution level electrical current account is the sum of apparent powers of the main distribution , which can be summarized with a total simultaneity. Here, a simultaneity factor of 0.4 to 0.8 is usually used. The gradations of the levels can be expanded as required, but in practice a maximum of two to three consumer levels can be assumed.
The final electrical power balance for dimensioning the medium-voltage transformers comprises the sum of all subordinate consumption systems, which in turn are linked to a building simultaneity factor. In the last stage, an overall simultaneity factor of 0.7 to 0.95 is usually used. The result describes the total electrical connection power of a building or an electrical consumption system. It should be noted that the apparent power is calculated here, since the medium-voltage transformers are also subject to power loss . However, the electrical power balance can also be set up with the pure active power , with the individual apparent powers for dimensioning the main supply lines and the main distributors then each having to be linked to an estimated power factor.
