Košice (German Koschitz ) is a municipality with 719 inhabitants (2006) in the Czech Republic . It is located four kilometers southeast of Planá nad Lužnicí on the right of the Lainsitz and belongs to the Okres Tábor . The cadastral area is 1399 ha.
geography
The community is located 450 m above sea level. M. two kilometers east of the Lainsitz at the transition from the Wittingau pan to the Wlaschimer hill country . To the northwest are the ponds of the town of Planá nad Lužnicí. The 532 high Čermákův vrch rises to the east .
Neighboring towns are Borek in the north, Dlouhá Lhota in the northeast, Chabrovice, Krátošice and Cabrky in the east, Brandlín in the southeast, Myslkovice and Roudná in the south, Doubí in the west and Strkov and Planá nad Lužnicí in the northwest.
history
The first written mention of Košice as the possession of the Choustník castle comes from 1252. From 1454 the village belonged to the Brandlín domain. In the 15th century the village was divided, of which the nobleman Jan Rohlík owned one part and the Von Kunstadt auf Tučapy family owned the other part. Between 1547 and 1594 Košice belonged to the Tábor rule , later to Planá nad Lužnicí and until the abolition of patrimonial rule in 1848 to the Želeč manor .
In 1787 the first village school was set up, which was run in three classes from 1874. In 1900 Košice had 768 inhabitants, 55 in Borek and 144 in Doubí. The place belonged to the Sobieslauer district.
