history

The village is one of the numerous settlements in Bohemia founded according to the Lhot system . It originated on an old trade route that led from Mirovice , Orlík , Sepekov , Hánov, Srlín via Lhota to Bechyně and Soběslav . It was first mentioned in writing in 1477, when Burian von Lazan exchanged his and his sister's inheritance with the brothers Václav and Voldřich von Lazan for the desert fortress Podolí, a farm in Lhota, the desert village of Borovany and a farm in Rataje. In 1651 Lhota consisted of six farms, three chalets and the Viktor mill. In 1775 there were seven farmers, one Chalupner and four Kötter in Lhota. In 1840 Lhota consisted of 25 houses with 202 inhabitants. On the other side of the Smutna was the Wiktora mill, which was parish off to Rattay . The parish and school location was Bechin . Lhota always remained subservient to Bechin until the middle of the 19th century .

After the abolition of patrimonial Lhota formed from 1850 a municipality in the district administration Milevsko / Mühlhausen and the judicial district Bechyně / Bechin. In 1887, linden and chestnut trees were planted in the upper part of the village up to the pond north of the village. Only a few trees have survived. On January 1, 1902, a branch of the Rataje school was opened in Lhota. The volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1903. The official place name Haškovcova Lhota was introduced in 1924. In 1925, a communal, 20-kilometer-long drinking water supply for Sudoměřice, Bechyně, Černýšovice, Bežerovice, Senožaty and Haškovcova Lhota, whose water was derived from the source area around Smoleč. From 1923 to 1925 afforestation work was carried out in the Smutná valley. Between 1925 and 1925 a connecting road to the road to Bechyně was built through the Borečný forest. Haškovcova Lhota was electrified between 1926 and 1927. In 1928 a school house was built in Haškovcova Lhota. In 1930 the village had 206 inhabitants. Due to the low number of students, the school was closed in 1947 and the children were taught in Jeníčkova Lhota. Due to the lack of bus connections, lessons soon took place again in Haškovcova Lhota in the winter months. Regular primary school operations in Haškovcova Lhota were later resumed. During the German occupation , criminal proceedings were initiated against the miller and numerous residents in 1943 for illegal milling. In 1947 the village had only 149 inhabitants. After the dissolution of the Okres Milevsko, the municipality became part of the Okres Týn nad Vltavou on February 21, 1949. In 1958 the school was closed. After the Okres Týn nad Vltavou was abolished, the municipality was assigned to the Okres Tábor in late 1960 and incorporated into Rataje in 1964. After a referendum, Haškovcova Lhota broke away from Rataje on November 24, 1990 and formed its own municipality.
