In the northeast rises the Novákovsko (610 m), east of the Čihadlo (664 m), in the southwest of the Ráj (625 m) and northwest of the Opálená (652 m).

Neighboring towns are Buková in the north, Ústí and Branišov in the northeast, Šimanov in the east, Zbilidy in the southeast, Opatov in the south, Vyskytná and Polánky in the southwest, Částonín and Petrkov in the west and Zachotín and Mysletín in the northwest.

history

The first written mention of Dudín took place in 1226 together with other places in a certificate of ownership Honorius III. for the Seelau monastery .

In 1436 , King Sigismund handed over the Seelau monastery property, orphaned during the Hussite Wars , to the protection and administration of Nikolaus Trčka von Lípas with the consent of the abbot who had fled to Iglau . After Georg von Podiebrad had assigned the monastery property to the Trčka von Lípa in 1458 in the land tablet, Burian Trčka von Lípa established the Jenikau dominion . In 1601 the Trčka Jenikau sold the Jihlava citizen Matthias Stubegg Knight of Königstein ( Matyáš Štubik z Kynigštejna ). When the inheritance was divided between his sons, Samuel Stubegg received the Jenikau share in 1606 with the town of Windig Jenikau and the villages of Winau , Opatau , Dudin, Maršov, Duschau , Jankau , Kalhau , Prusdorf and Chyška . After Stubegg's death, the rule fell to Magdalena Trčka von Lobkowicz in 1619 . During the Thirty Years' War the area became impoverished and subsequently foreign aristocrats quickly took turns as owners and pushed through the re-Catholicization of the population. Until 1848 Dudin remained subject to the Jenikau rulership, whose owners were the Counts of Rummerskirch from 1838 onwards.

After the abolition of patrimonial Dudín formed from 1850 a municipality in the district Deutschbrod and judicial district Humpolec. In 1863 the Protestants from Dudín, Opatov, Jankov, Dušejov, Zbilidy, Ústí, Nový Rychnov , Vyskytná, Hojkov and Milíčov , who had parish in Moraveč since the Tolerant Patent and belonged to the Strměchy branch, joined together to form a Protestant parish. The following year construction began on the Protestant church in Opatov. Between 1855 and 1868 the municipality was subordinate to the Humpolec district administration, which was then repealed. In 1910 Dudín was assigned to the new Humpolec district. In 1949 the village became part of the newly created Jihlavský kraj. In 1961 Dudín came to Okres Jihlava in Jihomoravský kraj.
