Hojkov (German Hojkau , also Hoykau ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located 13 kilometers west of the city center of Jihlava and belongs to the Okres Jihlava .

geography

Hojkov is located on the left side above the valley of the Hojkovský creek in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands on the northern edge of the PP Čeřínek Nature Park. In the north is the Sviták pond. To the north rises the Kopec (696 m), in the east the Březina (743 m), southeast the Čeřínek ( Czesinek , 761 m), in the south the Skalec (707 m), southwest the Mešnice ( Meschnitz , 753 m) and in the northwest the Ve Vršku (696 m). There is a quarry to the northeast.

Neighboring towns are Na Rovném, Robotsko and Váchovna in the north, Hatlíkov, Melouniště, Dušejov , Boršov and U Křížku in the north-east, Na Bahnech and Větrov in the east, Nový Hojkov and Hutě in the south-east, Dolní Hutě in the south, Měšnice, Honzův Mlýný in the south. Nový Rychnov and V Lomech in the west and Milíčov and Na Oklice in the north-west.

history

Hojkov emerged at the end of the 13th century during the colonization of the Bohemian border areas with Moravia in the Gau Řečice belonging to the diocese of Prague . The place is named after a Hojek . The village was first mentioned in writing in 1379. At that time, the Rundling consisted of 17 properties, plus two guard houses in the episcopal woods. During the Hussite Wars, Řečice came to secular lords. From 1496 to 1597 the village belonged to the lords of Leskovec. They built a Renaissance castle in Rychnov in the middle of the 16th century . Two mills have been documented since the middle of the 16th century. After the Battle of White Mountain , Jan von Říčany's goods were confiscated and Rychnov, including the associated villages, returned to the Prague diocese in 1623. In 1829 Hojkov consisted of 42 houses. In the early 19th century, the settlements Hatlíkov and Nový Hojkov had arisen later Větrov and came monolayer Padrť and Urbánka added.

After the abolition of patrimonial Hojkov formed a municipality in the Pelhřimov district from 1850 . A school was built on the outskirts of the village in 1904. In 1949 the municipality of Hojkov was assigned to the Okres Jihlava-okolí and since 1961 it has belonged to the Okres Jihlava .
